This well-established software development business is well known within its field and works with a number of FTSE 100 firms. Joining as the Financial Controller will be an exciting opportunity as the business is looking to dynamically expand.
 
Key responsibilities of the Financial Controller:
 
  • Devise, plan, manage and deliver the consolidated monthly and annual reporting processes
  • Collate, review, challenge and consolidate the monthly accounts and other reporting from divisions and publish the Board Management Information Pack incorporating income statement, balance sheet, cash flow, forecast, KPIs and trend analysis
  • Analyse and challenge key variances to budget, unusual movements in trends and the correct operation of internal controls involving close liaison with divisional finance managers
     
  • Manage production of audited year-end accounts to international reporting standards, stay ahead of accounting developments and advise CFO and Board of their implications for the Group
  • Support the CFO with funding and M&A transactions including due diligence, financial modelling, presentations, legal documentation, etc.
  • Develop the external audit relationship, constantly seeking greater efficiencies
 
The successful applicant will:
 
  • Be graduate calibre and a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a track record of achievement ideally gained within software, SAAS or technology businesses
  • Combine strong technical skills with the ability to work autonomously
  • Be a hands-on leader with experience of shaping, motivating and developing a small team 
  • Be an outstanding communicator with strong interpersonal skills to influence at all levels
  • Be commercially astute, solution and achievement oriented with an appetite for accountability
  • Have the ability to drive changes in processes, performance management and business 
  • Have a sound knowledge of IT and financial systems with a strong organisational skillset
  • Have the gravitas and ability to communicate effectively with the senior executive team as well as stakeholders
